Good preparation and gentle care help solid-brass faucets, shower systems, sinks and accessories perform beautifully for years. Use this guide before installation and as a quick reference after your fixture is in use.

Before installation

Read the product drawing and confirm the mounting holes, supply connections and clearances.
Flush supply lines before connecting the fixture to reduce debris in valves and aerators.
Use the correct washers, seals and approved thread sealant for the connection type.
Check access to shut-off valves so future service is straightforward.

Everyday care

Wipe water spots with a soft, dry cloth after use. For routine cleaning, use mild soap and water, then rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive powders, scouring pads, acidic descalers or bleach-based products unless the product instructions specifically allow them.

Care by finish

Unlacquered brass: let the natural patina develop, or clean gently when you want to refresh the surface.
Antique copper: clean softly to preserve its varied color and character.
Polished nickel: dry after cleaning to keep the reflective surface clear.
Oil-rubbed bronze: avoid aggressive rubbing that can lighten high-contact areas.

When polished copper, brushed brass and brushed nickel become available, their care instructions should be added here with the same finish-specific format.

When something needs attention
